Sponsored Research Services Congratulates student Nathalie Barrios

With special thanks to the Provost’s Office for support in this award, Sponsored Research Services would like to congratulate Clarkson University undergraduate student Nathalie Barrios on her recent research award “Can upright posture decrease feelings of fatigue and depression in students who report feeling depressed?”  Ms. Barrios is advised by Dr. Ali Boolani, whose research focuses on ways to independently measure energy and fatigue.  It is exciting to be able to support undergraduate students like Nathalie who are developing research grant proposals,” says Clarkson’s Associate Vice Provost for Research and Technology Transfer Dr. Shannon Robinson.  “It’s important that we provide opportunities for undergraduate students to explore research in an area that is interesting to them and supports their intended career goals.”  Nathalie is also supported by the Clarkson McNair Research Program. In summer 2020 Nathalie was funded by the Clarkson McNair grant to work with Dr. Boolani and will also continue with this research in summer 2021. The McNair Scholars Research Program offers first generation college students from low-income backgrounds or students from underrepresented groups interested in performing research in science or engineering an opportunity to participate in a 10-week, in residence summer program.
