Announcing the Presidential Search Committee Membership

Dear University Community,

As announced in June, President Tony Collins will be stepping down as Clarkson’s 16th president at the conclusion of the 2022 academic year, after 40 years of service to the institution.

The Clarkson Board of Trustees has established a Presidential Search Process and as part of that process has appointed a Presidential Search Committee co-chaired by Trustees Georgia Keresty ‘83 and Sanjeev Kulkarni ’84.  The following members of the University community were nominated and selected from a diverse pool of candidates to also be members of the Presidential Search Committee.  While the members represent a range of constituent groups, they are all tasked with bringing a “university mindset” in their service on the Committee.

The primary responsibility of the Presidential Search Committee is to work with a selected external search firm to identify candidates to recommend to the Board of Trustees.  The Clarkson Board of Trustees has the ultimate responsibility to select and appoint the University’s 17th president.  The members of the Presidential Search Committee are:

  • Georgia Keresty (Co-Chair)–Trustee
  • Sanjeev Kulkarni (Co-Chair)–Trustee
  • Bebonchu Atem–Faculty
  • Katie Campbell–Trustee
  • Simoon Cannon–Trustee
  • Lauretta Chrys–Trustee
  • Bayard Clarkson, Jr–Trustee
  • Nicole Ellegate–Undergraduate Student
  • Andrea Ferro–Faculty
  • Laurel Kane–Staff Member
  • Tom Kassouf–Trustee
  • Vicki LaFay–Faculty
  • Tom Langen–Faculty
  • Earl (Skip) Lewis–Trustee
  • Rasool Mazruee Sebdani–Graduate Student
  • Jefry Lopez Rincon–Undergraduate Student
  • Bob Ziek–Trustee

The Committee will have its inaugural meeting on Wednesday, August 18 to begin final selection of the external search firm and build upon the foundational work that the Co-Chairs and other trustees have done since President Collins made his announcement.

A website dedicated to sharing information on the search and organizing “listening sessions” for members of the community to further engage in this process is forthcoming.

Sincerely,

Clarkson Presidential Search Committee
