With generous financial support from CUSA and the Student Affairs Division, 5 members of Clarkson’s faculty and staff became certified trainers to offer Mental Health First Aid workshops. The team pictured above includes, Coreen Bohl, Steven Wojkeiwicz, Mary Cabral, Troy Lassial, and Kristen Avery. The group will be offering this research-based program, designed to strengthen participant’s skills in identifying individuals who are showing signs of mental illness and substance use disorders and to feel confident in supporting and referring them to appropriate supports, multiple times throughout the year.
The next workshop to be offered will occur on Tuesday, October 12 (the last day of fall break). It will be offered as a full-day workshop. Future workshops will be posted in the campus announcements. Individuals interested in learning more can contact cbohl@clarkson.edu.
