Olaniyi Iyiola Appointed Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Clarkson University

Olaniyi S. Iyiola has been appointed assistant professor of mathematics at Clarkson University.

He received his Ph.D. in applied & computational mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, his MBA from California University of Pennsylvania, his master of science degree in pure & applied mathematics from the African University of Science & Technology, Nigeria, and his bachelor of science in mathematics from the University of Nigeria.

Iyiola’s research interests are in numerical analysis (algorithms & analysis for partial differential equations, integer and non-integer order), computational mathematics (simulations in application, PDE models, optimization), mathematical biology and nonlinear operator theory involving fixed point algorithms, variational inequality, optimization and variational analysis, equilibrium problems, and nonlinear integral equations.

He has co-published research articles in a number of peer-reviewed journals, including Optimization Methods and Software, Journal of Nonlinear and Convex Analysis, Journal of Industrial & Management Optimization, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research, Applied Numerical Mathematics, Optimization and Engineering, Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Numerical Algorithms, Computers and Mathematics with Applications, and Computational and Applied Mathematics. He serves as an associate editor for Fixed Point Theory, and Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics.

Iyiola has also authored book chapters in Iterative Approximation of Fixed Points in Hilbert Space and Sobolev Spaces and Linear Elliptic Partial Differential Equations.

His research has been funded by California University of Pennsylvania (FPDC), the National Science, Technology and Innovation Plan (NSTIP) of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and Saudi Basic Chemical Industries (SABIC).

Iyiola is a recipient of the Merit Award for Research from California University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Canadian Mathematical Society, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, European Mathematical Society, and American Mathematical Society.

He previously served as an assistant professor at California University of Pennsylvania, and visiting assistant professor at Minnesota State University-Moorhead; a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; and a lecturer-B and research assistant at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
