Erica Leigh Appointed Assistant Professor of Communication, Media & Design at Clarkson University

Erica Vivian Leigh has been appointed assistant professor of communication, media & design at Clarkson University.

She received her Ph.D. in English rhetoric and composition from Ohio University, and her master of arts degree in English rhetoric and writing, and bachelor of science in communication studies from Saint Cloud State University.

Leigh’s research interests explore social justice initiatives through intersectional approaches to feminist studies, while forging connections between bodily rhetorics, food studies, antiracist activism, and writing pedagogies.

She has essays published in two collections, The Food Network Recipe: Essays on Cooking, Celebrity and Competition and ABC Family to Freeform TV: Essays on the Millennial-focused Network and Its Programs, and has another forthcoming piece in the Edited Collection: Community Through Women’s Eyes. She has also delivered a number of national and regional conference presentations as well as invited and guest lectures.

Leigh is a member of the Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition, the National Council of Teachers of English, and the Rhetoric Society of America, 

She previously served as a postdoctoral teaching fellow and instructor of technical communication and rhetoric at Utah State University, a graduate teaching assistant and instructor of writing and rhetoric at Ohio University, and a graduate teaching assistant and instructor of first-year composition at Saint Cloud State University.
