After nearly 18 years of service to Clarkson University, Trish Dobbs, director of admissions, has
announced she will be moving on for other opportunities. Her last day will be October 29.
Trish has served Clarkson in various roles since 2003. She initially joined the Undergraduate
Admissions Office as an assistant director of admissions. She also served as the director of
residence life for The Clarkson School. She returned to undergraduate admissions to become
the director of transfer admissions, and in 2010, was promoted to director of admissions. Trish
successfully managed all aspects of the admission recruitment efforts for the University.
Trish has always taken a caring, student-centered approach to her work. She was instrumental
in implementing the undergraduate Slate CRM (constituent relationship management) system,
which has greatly benefited the University’s strategic recruitment initiatives.
Her ability to form strong relationships with external and internal constituents has greatly
benefitted the University. She served the University on various committees during her time on
campus.
Please join me in thanking Trish for her many years of dedicated and loyal service to Clarkson
over the past 18 years. Throughout her career here, she has been instrumental in moving
Clarkson forward.
Matt Rutherford ’99, has been named director of admissions. Matt is a 1999 graduate of
Clarkson and has almost 20 years of admission experience. He joined Clarkson in 2001 and
served as assistant director of admissions for four years. He briefly left Clarkson and took a job
as an operations manager in the manufacturing arena.
Matt returned to Clarkson in 2007 and has since served as The Clarkson School’s director of
admissions and financial aid. Clarkson has benefited from Matt’s efforts and professionalism in
recruiting highly qualified students to The Clarkson School.
Matt will lead the recruitment efforts for transfer and first-year students and The Clarkson
School.
