Día de Los Muertos Alter

Día de Los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday though it is now practiced in many parts of Latin America. On this day it is believed that the souls of the dead return to visit their living family members. Many people celebrate this day by visiting the graves of deceased loved ones to decorate them with the deceased favorite things. People also celebrate by setting up alters with the deceased’s favorite foods, drinks, photos, and other favorite items. We invite the community to honor our deceased loved ones by bringing photos and favorite items of your loved ones to the alter outside of the Diversity & Inclusion Lounge in the Student Center. Many thanks to the members of Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Kappa Delta Chi (KDChi) for setting up the alter.
