Poetry Book Launch: A Native American Heritage Month Event

Clarkson Professor Rebecca Pelky will read from her award-winning poetry collection, Through a Red Place, and discuss the research that led to this collection. The book is a bilingual exploration of place and identity. The reading will be followed by a Q&A, book signing, and reception with light refreshments. This event will take place at the Adirondack Lodge from 4:00-6:00 pm, Thursday, November 11th.

Rebecca Pelky is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, and is an enrolled member of the Brothertown Indian Nation of Wisconsin. Through a Red Place won the 2021 Perugia Press Poetry Prize, and was released in September. Her first book, Horizon of the Dog Woman, was published just a year earlier by Saint Julian Press. Both books will be available at the event.
