Road Closed for Formula SAE Aerodynamics Testing

Today, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., the Adirondack Trail (formerly known as the loop or back access road) will be closed from the water tower to Route 11 for Formula SAE Aerodynamics testing.

Per Bob Davis and his team of students:  We are looking to collect data to calculate our Coefficient of Lift and Coefficient of Drag. To do this, we need a long enough strip of road where we can coast down our vehicle from its top speed of 70mph.  We need a total of approximately 3000 feet to safely accelerate to top speed and coast to a full stop while collecting meaningful data.

Students will be posted at each location where the road is closed (Route 11, Cheel parking lot, and at the end of the Townhouse parking lot by the water tower).

Please contact Bob Davis, Director of SPEED, rjdavis@clarkson.edu, if you have any questions.
