CU Sustainability Reporting in Progress – data needed for AASHE STARS

Every three years, Clarkson submits data for the university sustainability rating. Clarkson is currently rated as a STARS Gold, which is great!  Our next sustainability report / audit is due next month!

A program of AASHE, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System, better known as STARS, is a self-assessment tool used by institutions of higher education to measure their sustainability progress.   Participating in this rating has helped us set and meet sustainability goals while fostering collaboration and information-sharing across our campus.

Participating in STARS requires a substantial amount of data collection in four main categories, Academics, Engagement, Operations, and Planning & Administration.  Dr. Susan Powers and Asst. Director for Sustainability Alex French are spearheading data collection efforts on campus.  We look forward to collaborating with many of you during the data collection process for STARS and will be in touch soon with more information. For more information please see the STARS website.
