Every three years, Clarkson submits data for the university sustainability rating. Clarkson is currently rated as a STARS Gold, which is great! Our next sustainability report / audit is due next month!
A program of AASHE, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System, better known as STARS, is a self-assessment tool used by institutions of higher education to measure their sustainability progress. Participating in this rating has helped us set and meet sustainability goals while fostering collaboration and information-sharing across our campus.
Participating in STARS requires a substantial amount of data collection in four main categories, Academics, Engagement, Operations, and Planning & Administration. Dr. Susan Powers and Asst. Director for Sustainability Alex French are spearheading data collection efforts on campus.
