Celebration of International Mother Language Day on 21st February

Dear All,

For the first time, Bangladeshi Students Association at CU (BSACU) and D &I office are going to organize International Mother language Day at Clarkson. This is a worldwide annual observance held on 21st February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism. It’s also a National Day of Bangladesh to commemorate the sacrifices and protests to protect Bangla as the national language in 1952 at the time of the Movement of the Bengali Language. The day was proclaimed by the General Conference of UNESCO in November 1999 and has been celebrated since 2000 to create awareness of multilingualism and peace worldwide.
