Alastair Kocho-Willams, Ph.D 

Alastair Kocho-Williams

Originally from the United Kingdom, Kocho-Williams came to Clarkson in 2018. He holds degrees from the University of Manchester in the UK. Before coming to Clarkson, he was Senior Lecturer in Modern European History at Aberystwyth University. Prior to that, he was Senior Lecturer in International History at the University of the West of England, and Lecturer in Soviet History at the University of Leeds. Kocho-Williams is an elected fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He is also a member of the Institute of Historical Research, the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies, the Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies, the Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet Studies and the British International History Group.  He is proficient in Russian, German and French. He is the author of the books Russia’s International Relations in the Twentieth Century; Russian and Soviet Diplomacy.

Prashant Hosur Suhas, Ph.D.

Prashant Hosur Suhas

He received his Ph.D. in political science from Indiana University, his master of arts in diplomacy and international relations from Seton Hall University and his bachelor of arts in international studies from Graceland University.  Hosur Suhas’ research focuses on the determinants of states’ war-making capacity, international conflict processes, interstate rivalries, and Asian security affairs and South Asian security in particular. He is deeply interested in the effect of power disparity between states on different conflict outcomes such as rivalry maintenance, conflict escalation and peaceful versus coercive rivalry terminations. He also examines the effect of protracted conflicts on different dimensions of state capacity.
