The University has made some updates to the NYS Paid Family Leave (NYS PFL) policy – Operations Manual 8.1.18, effective February 17, 2022. The update is summarized below and the presentation is attached for your review.
100% paid by CU to ALL eligible staff employees for the following reasons:
- Provide care for a family member with a serious health condition
- Bond with a child following birth, adoption or placement in foster care
- In place of our original caregiver leave policy and now allows both primary and secondary caregivers to take the same amount of time off
- Attend to a spouse/domestic partner, child or parent called to active military duty
- Up to 12 weeks paid in a 12 month period
- Time can be taken intermittently in full day increments, consecutively all at once or in blocks of time
