Sust Dev. Goals Launch Workshop

Become a better advocate for sustainable development with the SDGs Launch!

The Institute for a Sustainable Environment has partnered with the Foundation of Environmental Stewardship (FES). FES is a non-profit organization that empowers youth to create a more inclusive, fair, prosperous, and sustainable future for all and holds a consultative status with the United Nations (UN).

Through a speaker series, seminar, and interactive workshop, participants will have the opportunity to reflect and build on their understanding of sustainable development. At the completion of all three sessions, participants will earn a Certificate of Training, a LinkedIn badge, as well as a Clarkson University Event Badge. These look great on resumes!

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030. They are included in a UN Resolution called the 2030 Agenda or what is colloquially known as Agenda 2030. The SDGs follow and expand on the Millennium Development Goals which ended in 2015.
