Clarkson University Seeking Future of Healthcare Leadership Fellows

Clarkson University’s MBA in Healthcare Management program has introduced the Future of Healthcare Leadership Fellows program at its Capital Region Campus in Schenectady, N.Y.

The MBA in Healthcare Management is a 48-credit-hour program designed to combine the power of an MBA with the passion of healthcare. Its courses are specifically tailored to enable professionals to succeed in the healthcare industry through business expertise.

“As a specialty MBA in healthcare management, the curriculum focuses on bringing management education – economics, marketing, operations, strategy, finance, organizational behavior – to light in the healthcare industry,” says Associate Professor of Healthcare Management Amber Stephenson. “Because of this, our students are extraordinarily well-prepared to meet the needs of the modern healthcare organization.”

Students selected for the fellowship will receive a 50 percent tuition scholarship toward their MBA in Healthcare Management and potential waivers for up to three classes.

Fellows will complete the program in either one calendar year (taking four classes per quarter) or over two calendar years (taking two classes per quarter). The program begins in the fall quarter (early September) and runs for four quarters, finishing the following summer (end of August).

All classes will be held in person (when available) at Clarkson’s Capital Region Campus. Students must maintain good academic standing and attend classes in person to retain their fellowship award.

Admission to this Future of Healthcare Leadership Fellows program is dependent on a highly selective department review. Eligibility and consideration are available to anyone with a 3.3 undergraduate G.P.A. or above, but space is limited. Applicants with a GPA below 3.3 who have professional experience are encouraged to apply for the fellowship.

Those interested in learning more about the program, and applying for the fellowship can visit clarkson.edu/graduate/healthcare-management.

All fellow applicants must submit a personal essay offering their thoughts on the importance of leadership for the future of the healthcare industry. Additional admission requirements for the program include having a bachelor’s degree prior to the program’s start, a resume, college transcripts for all colleges attended, and two letters of recommendation. The deadline for application is August 1, 2022.

Students who apply and are not accepted into the fellowship program will still be eligible for a merit scholarship, assuming they are admitted into the Healthcare MBA program.
