Message From the Founding Dean
As we celebrate graduations and academic achievement at commencement ceremonies this month, we are so proud of our Lewis School students. Their strength of purpose, vision to change the world and fierce desire to help others never fails to amaze me. As they embark on exciting new journeys out in the world, we welcome new members to the Clarkson community: a new director for our emergency medical services program and a new President for the University. I look forward to working with both of them and continuing to serve our outstanding health sciences faculty and students.

New Knight in the Realm
It’s official! The Clarkson Board of Trustees has selected Marc P. Christensen to lead the University as the 17th President. President-Elect Christensen will be joining us from Texas, where he is dean of the Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University. We are very excited to welcome him to the Clarkson community this July. READ MORE
Pain-Free Music
The danger of injury for Golden Knight athletes is obvious, especially for hockey players. For their musician counterparts in SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, that danger is less apparent, but no less real. This spring, our DPT students are partnering with Crane musicians to promote pain- and injury-free music playing. READ MORE
Welcome Our EMS Director
A blank canvas for a new director. That’s one of the aspects of the job that excites Douglas Wildermuth. After more than 20 years with the New York State Police, Wildermuth has joined Clarkson’s emergency medical services program as its first director and looks forward to developing a hands-on program and working with the local community. A Living Library
This fall, put on your reading glasses and head on over to the Living Library, hosted by Clarkson’s Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity. The event will feature “open books” — people who will share their experiences as a way of creating a safe place in which students and faculty can talk about justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
