Clarkson’s electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by the ERC and by Old Main are both currently inoperable. Functioning EV stations can be found on this Plugshare Map. Please let campus visitors who may be arriving in EVs know so they can plan accordingly.
ERC Station: This station is not owned by Clarkson. It is owned by National Grid. Chargepoint is the EV vendor. Chargepoint has let us know that they are waiting for parts to fix the station but it will likely take several weeks.
Old Main Station: The Old Main station is owned by Clarkson. Chargepoint is the EV vendor. Due to a miscommunication, Chargepoint disconnected the station from their network without Clarkson staff being informed. The station is old and needs an update.
Demand for electric vehicles is rising exponentially and we realize that the capacity of our current system does not meet the current and growing demand in our community. We are taking our time to thoughtfully come up with a plan for a successful EV infrastructure system on campus. Please be patient as we analyze our different options.
