Clarkson Seniors’ Short Film Accepted into Lake Placid Film Festival

“The Darkroom” a short film by Dan Wellings ‘23 and Patrick Maciel ‘23, two Clarkson University Communication, Media & Design majors, has been accepted into next month’s Lake Placid Film Festival.

The event is being held October, 20-23 at various venues in Lake Placid. Maciel and Wellings’s short film will be screened on Friday, October 21 between 9-11 a.m. at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. 

In this horror/thriller, a photographer shows his date their college’s neglected Darkroom to show her all of his photos. When he turns his back for a moment, She stumbles upon a very dark secret he has been hiding from her.

“We feel deeply honored by the Lake Placid Film Festival for selecting our short. We would like to thank Zac Miller for encouraging us to enter our short and helping us craft our film,” Maciel and Wellings said. 
The Lake Placid Film Festival is one of four major initiatives of Adirondack Film. Held annually in October, the festival is designed to bring film lovers, directors, and producers alike to view current, provocative feature and short film selections.
