“Defining a Research Hypothesis”

This interactive workshop will discuss the fundamentals of the Scientific Method, how to formulate a hypothesis, and how a hypothesis differs from a research question, a goal, and objectives. You will leave the seminar with a better understanding of these topics, as well as a working draft of your thesis’ hypothesis.

Dr. Bethany Almeida is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department here at Clarkson University. Her research focuses on fabricating advanced biomaterials to control human mesenchymal stem cell behavior, such as differentiation and immunomodulation, towards applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Prior to joining Clarkson, Dr. Almeida was an ASEE Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the US Naval Research Laboratory, and she received her PhD from Brown University.
