The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is seeking people with temporomandibular (jaw) pain to work with the DPT students on Zoom on Friday, November 18th, 10-11:30 am EST.

Before the session, we will ask you to fill out forms about your current  temporomandibular joint problem and its effect on your function and quality of life.  The session will include:

·       An interview regarding the history and symptoms of your jaw pain, as well as any headaches you may experience (about 30 minutes)

·       Some telemedicine-format physical tests (for example: looking at your posture, watching the movement of your jaw as you open, having you report about whether you feel clicking in the joint, having you bite down on something and report any discomfort, etc.) (about 30 minutes)

·       Students providing you with information about possible contributing factors and general TMJ self-care strategies. (about 15 minutes) All participants will receive educational information about TMJ problems and headaches associated with muscle trigger points.

Leslie Russek, PT, DPT, PhD will be facilitating the session with the students.

If you experience temporomandibular joint pain and are interested and available at that time, please contact Dana McGuire, at dmcguire@clarkson.edu or 315-268-2152.
