The Lewis School of Health Sciences is being recognized for its regional and state-wide impact on the rural health workforce.

Lennart Johns, the founding chair of the Lewis School of Health Sciences, said it is rewarding to know Clarkson’s health sciences program is being recognized for its impact in the field of rural healthcare.

“I want to thank the Lewis School of Health Sciences faculty and staff for all of their hard work and dedication to the education of our next generation of healthcare professionals and their extraordinary service to our communities,” Johns said. “Many of our students come from rural areas and upon graduation return to practice in rural areas.”

The Outstanding Rural Health Program of the Year award will be given to the Lewis School of Health Sciences at the NYSARH National Rural Health Day Celebration on November 17th at 2:30 p.m.
