Dear Clarkson Community:
On December 7, 2022, President Christensen announced that the University will begin the process of selecting its next provost, effective immediately. A search committee, led by Bebonchu Atems, Professor of Economics and Financial Studies, has been formed.
The search committee is soliciting suggestions related to the characteristics and qualifications needed for the next provost from all university stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and members of the Clarkson community. As part of that process, the search committee will host one virtual and three in-person listening sessions, each open to all members of the campus community, on the following dates:
- Potsdam Campus In-person Session: Monday, December 12, 2022; 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. in 206 Cheel – Barben Room
- Capital Region Campus In-person Session: Monday, December 12, 2022; 1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m. in CRC 002
- Virtual: Monday, December 12, 2022; 2:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. via Zoom (Zoom link: https://clarkson.zoom.us/j/99154998026)
- Potsdam Campus In-person Session: Tuesday, December 13, 2022; 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in 206 Cheel – Barben Room
A dedicated session will also be held with academic deans, institute directors, and vice provosts.
In addition to the above listening sessions, input will also be solicited through the Faculty Senate, the Staff Advisory Council, the Clarkson University Student Association (CUSA), and the Clarkson University Graduate Student Association (CUGSA).

Please provide your input no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday December 13, 2022.
