Grant Renewed
Budding engineers looking to learn about high performance computing will have another three years of opportunities. The NSF has renewed its grant to Clarkson that funds the Research Experiences for Undergraduates site on High Performance Computing With Engineering Applications, which is co-led by ECE Professors Daqing Hou and Yu Liu. Work Honored
Stephanie Schuckers’ work as director of CITeR, the Center for Identification Technology Research, revolves around using biometrics to recognize human identities. Now, she has been recognized as one of a select group of electrical and electronics engineers. The IEEE named her a Fellow for “her contributions in biometric recognition systems.” READ MORE
The Future is Now
Research Professor Dana Barry is preparing her students for the future — using a virtual world in which they are represented by avatars. Her students completed tasks as avatars in a virtual space while she used virtual reality headsets to explore lesson ideas. Back in real life, she presented on their work at an international conference in Italy. READ MORE
The Inventor President
Clarkson is in innovative hands. This winter, Clarkson University President Marc P. Christensen was named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, which elects academic inventors whose creations tangibly impact society. Christensen is among 169 inventors in the 2022 Class of Fellows from research universities and institutes worldwide. READ MORE
