Theodore Brown, PhD Professor, Department of History Professor, Division of Health Services Research, Community & Preventive Medicine

After a twenty-plus year history of providing graduate level training in bioethics through the Master of Science in Bioethics program, the Bioethics Department of the Lewis School of Health Science will start a new era of undergraduate bioethics education at Clarkson. Starting in fall 2023, Clarkson University undergraduate students will have the option to complement their major study program with a new minor in Bioethics. A National Endowment for the Humanities Connections grant supported the development of the minor and will sponsor a lecture series to celebrate the launch of the Bioethics Minor. The third lecture in the series will occur on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at noon EST on Zoom. Dr. Theodore Brown, a historian of medicine, public health, and health policy, and Professor Emeritus of History and of Medical Humanities at the University of Rochester, will give a talk entitled, “Bioethics, Biopsychosocialism, and Social Ethics.”
