Clarkson Fitness Center Policies

Welcome to CU!! 

We ask that you comply with the following rules so that we provide a safe and enjoyable center for all patrons to enjoy. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

DENEKA & YIANOUKOS’ FITNESS CENTER

Rules & Conduct:

*You must present a valid CU ID upon entering. Check-in & check-out is required.

*Yianoukos’ Gym access is restricted to current CU students & employees only.

*Proper attire requirements include athletic shorts/pants, shirts, and clean athletic shoes. Athletic shoes are required in the Fitness Center at all times. Jeans are not permitted.

*Street shoes are not permitted.

*Olympic lifts must be performed within racks, not in the back room or on the open floor.

*Collars are required for free weight lifts using Olympic Bars.

*Equipment located in the Fitness Center must remain in the Fitness Center and cannot be transported to other parts of the facility or outside.

*Please do not throw free weights around when working out. Show respect for equipment and the safety of other patrons at all times.

*Do not monopolize equipment.

*Please refrain from using foul or offensive language.

*The use of chalk is not permitted. Lifting straps are available at the front desk.

*Gym bags or purses are not permitted in the fitness center. You may store personal items in the locker room. Clarkson is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

*Break down bars after completing an exercise. Return equipment to its proper place after each use.

*Sanitize equipment after use.

*Alcohol, drugs, and banned substances are not allowed in the training facility.

*Do not lean weights against the walls or facility. Equipment must be returned to storage racks after use.

*Outside equipment may not be brought into Clarkson Facilities. This includes, but is not limited to such equipment as Olympic bars, etc. Personal lifting belts may be used.

*Children under 16 years of age are not permitted into either FITNESS CENTER.

*Observe weight room etiquette and demonstrate courtesy toward others at all times.

*Immediately report any facility-related injury or facility/equipment irregularity to the staff.

* If you have complaints regarding the Fitness Center, please direct them to the Fitness Center Director.

***A VIOLATION IN POLICIES MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF RECREATION FACILITY PRIVILEGES.
