Shipley Center Sponsoring a Team to Represent Clarkson at the TVCOG Hackathon Event

The Tech Valley Center of Gravity (TVCOG) is hosting a weekend-long Hackathon event October 13-15 in Troy, NY. This year’s challenge is to devise solutions to address some of the biggest issues facing urban areas (water management, transportation network efficiency, etc). Teams of 2-4 students (18+) will be challenged to build a physical prototype and develop a convincing pitch that will win over their panel of judges. Prizes include up to $2500 in cash, rent-free office space for a year, a one-year TVCOG membership, and a one-year chamber membership.

Clarkson’s Shipley Center for Innovation will sponsor the attendance of one team to represent Clarkson at the event (i.e., registration, mileage, lodging, and food). If interested, please apply to the event on the TVCOG website and fill out Shipley’s Hackathon Sponsorship request form by the Hackathon application deadline of Monday, September 18. Before submitting the TVCOG application form, make sure to save a screenshot/print out of your answers as a PDF (you will need to upload your answers when completing Shipley’s sponsorship request form).

The TVCOG application process is free and needs to be completed once per team. After reviewing all form submissions, Shipley staff will contact the team who will receive attendance sponsorship.
