It is with mixed emotions that the Controller’s Office announces the retirement of Betsy Niles. Her last day on campus will be this Friday, September 15th.
Betsy’s career at Clarkson began back just before the ice storm of 98, when she came to campus as an employee of Penski, Inc. This time was split between the Duplicating Office and the Purchasing Department, where her efforts led to an offer of employment by the University in November of 2002. She was hired as an Accounting Assistant in the Accounts Payable Department. From there Betsy would transfer to the Head Cashier position, also located within the Controller’s Office, in November of 2007. The position has evolved, and the title has changed, but Betsy has been the Controller’s Office Head Cashier/Senior Accounting Assistant for nearly sixteen years.
While we are certainly sad to see her go, we are also excited for her to begin her retirement. We will be holding a retirement get-together this Thursday, September 14th, at the Cactus Grill & Cantina, starting at 4:30 p.m. Please stop by and wish Betsy the best in her retirement!
