Parking Ticket Forgiveness for Pantry Donations

Dear Clarkson University community:

With the holidays fast approaching, now is the perfect time to reflect on all of the things that most of us take for granted throughout the year and some of the challenges that are faced by those who are less fortunate, including many within our own community. Especially in the upcoming season of feasting and celebrating, one of the issues that should be at the forefront of our minds, and yet largely remains hidden, is food insecurity. To do our part to provide some measure of relief to those who are suffering and to raise awareness of this issue which affects so many in our community, the Campus Safety and Security Office is partnering with the CU Pantry through the Dean of Students Office to raise donations of nonperishable food items and personal hygiene products in exchange for forgiveness for up to two parking citations through the month of November.

Donation requirements per parking citation (up to two citations):

  • Four or more canned or boxed, unexpired, and unopened shelf stable items [6 pack of Ramen noodles counts as one item] OR
  • Two or more boxed or packaged, unexpired, and unopened personal hygiene items
  • Donation received by Campus Safety and Security no later than November 30

Eligibility requirements:

  • Vehicle registration through Campus Safety and Security must be current with a valid registration permit by the time of donation
  • Person requesting a waiver must be the person for whom the vehicle is registered
  • The citation(s) must have been issued this semester
  • The violation(s) must have been for any of the following items only: Parking in a Restricted Area, Parking in a Service Area, or No or Invalid Registration
    • Fire lane, accessible parking, and all moving violations are not eligible

It is our hope that by working together, we will be able to help eliminate food insecurity for our community. Donations are always welcome. For more information on what items are eligible to be donated, check out the CU Pantry’s Amazon wish list or contact the Dean of Students Office at 315-268-6620 or at deanofstudents@clarkson.edu.

We wish you the best of luck with the remainder of your semester and a safe and happy holiday season. Please contact Chris Naccari at cnaccari@clarkson.edu with any questions.

Sincerely,

Clarkson University Campus Safety and Security
