Celebrating Paul DeShane’s Retirement

After a career spanning nearly four decades, we announce the retirement of Paul DeShane, Finance and Budget Analyst for the Office of Information Technology.  Paul’s last day of employment will be January 2, 2024.  Over the years, Paul’s dedication and expertise have left an indelible mark on our institution.

Paul first joined the University as the Manager of Computer Sales and Service in 1985.  It was in this role that he oversaw the implementation of a first-in-the-nation program that provided Zenith Z100 computers to every incoming student.  In 2003, he was promoted to the position of Finance and Budget Analyst, a role in which he has served with diligence and an unwavering commitment to detail.

Throughout his tenure, Paul has played a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of the Office of Information Technology. His organizational skills and adept record keeping have been instrumental in ensuring the effective management of budgets and resources. Paul could always be counted on to make sure that computer purchases went smoothly and that departments across campus always had access to computer hardware to meet their needs.  Paul’s efforts have helped to ensure the success of countless projects and initiatives within our University.

As Paul embarks on this well-deserved journey into retirement, we extend our gratitude for his years of dedicated service to the University and wish him the very best in all his future endeavors. We invite the Clarkson University community to join us in celebrating Paul’s remarkable career and expressing our thanks for his many years of service to the University.

A retirement celebration will be held on December 18th from 4:30 – 5:30pm at Maxfields. (As a small token of our appreciation, I’ll be covering Paul’s drinks for the evening. However, please note that for everyone else individual tabs will be your responsibility.)  Please join us as we raise a glass in honor of Paul and share fond memories as he transitions into this new chapter of his life.

Congratulations, Paul, on your retirement!
