Funding & Other Opportunity with Air Force Office of Scientific Research

  • AFOSR-NRF/II TP Korea Quantum Information Science and Technologies (2023): AFRL/AFOSR, the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) have announced a joint solicitation for three-year research grants in breakthrough quantum information science and technologies. White papers are due February 13, 2024.

    NRF/IITP have a long 14-year relationship with the USAF and sister services for supporting basic scientific research efforts. In order to continue to encourage scientists and engineers in both countries to collaborate in these emerging technology areas and to leverage their intellectual resources, AFRL/AFOSR and NRF/IITP are pursuing parallel programs in Quantum Information Science and Technologies. Learn more.

    AFRL/AFOSR Chief Scientist cordially invites you to attend the Chief Scientist Distinguished Lecture Series featuring Professor Michael Shur, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, on Wednesday, 24 January 2024 (1400-1500  ET). His talk is titled “Terahertz Communication and Sensing Technology.”

    THz communication technology is synergistic with THz sensing technology, which has found applications in industrial controls, the detection of biological and chemical hazardous agents, biology, medicine (including cancer diagnostics), detection of mines and explosives, providing security in buildings, airports, and other public spaces, radioastronomy, space research, and hardware cyber security.
