Faculty from Physics Department gets Highlighted in Early Career Forum for ACS

Prof. Dhara J Trivedi, an assistant professor of Physics at Clarkson University, has been selected for Early career forum 2024 by American Chemical Society. Trivedi team explores various kinds of low-dimensional materials for solar energy harvesting applications. Our work in the field of halide organic-inorganic semiconductors has been supported by various grants like, NSF-ERI research grant along with NSF – ACCESS and DOE-CINT resource grants.

The particular invited and highlighted work explores 2-dimensional double perovskites and proposes potential candidates with alleviated the parity forbidden transitions to improve its power conversion efficiency. The motivation behind this computational material exploration is to guide the future generation of double perovskite-based systems for photovoltaic applications while mitigating structural and electronic concerns currently found in this class of materials. Robert Stanton, a graduate researcher in the Trivedi team has made a significant contribution in the publication. Stanton has so far 11 scientific publications and secured multiple external awards, as a part of Trivedi team. This publication can be accessed via https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acsaem.3c03276.
