Estimating our Headcount!

This is a Clarkson Community event for students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families.  In addition to games, bouncy houses, photo stations, educational talks, music and more, we have great grilled meal and dessert buffets planned for you on this day that will be easily accessible via meal plan swipe, Knight Card or cash plus some freebies.  Children 15 and under who attend are half price.

To help with planning, please complete this survey (responding is not an obligation to attend!)

Golden Knight Safety Priorities
We encourage the Clarkson community to be aware that with sunny /partly clear skies on April 8 and the days before and after, we should anticipate the population of St. Lawrence County may more than double during this time.   Staying on campus is a great opportunity to enjoy spring, connect with friends and enjoy this experience together.

  • Please anticipate heavy traffic may cause significant delays and roadways could become blocked due to congestion before/during and after the eclipse’s totality.
  • Fill cars with gas in advance if you know you’re going to be traveling in this timeframe.
  • Keep reviewing announcements with links on how to safely wear protective glasses and view the eclipse safely.  Clarkson has a limited supply of glasses that will be available on site.  The Potsdam Library has these for free for library card holders (and getting a library card is free).  The St. Lawrence County Chamber also has them plus some other local businesses.
  • Several local banks are also closing for the day to accommodate their employees’ participation and indicating their ATM machines may also be strained so consider your personal cash flow needs as well during this period.

Questions?  Send to community@clarkson.edu. We hope to CU there!
