Summary of steps for Course Preparedness:

Step 1: Create your course in Moodle.  Instructors may begin editing in your Spring and Winter Qtr term Moodle courses now. Consult our recently updated Course Start Up Checklist which contains helpful reminders and links for creating your Moodle course, recording with Echo, updating resources and more.

Step 2: Prepare for Remote Learning. Next semester is planned to begin with remote instruction and there will be students attending remotely for the entire term (see announcements 10/19/20 and 10/23/20). Preparations for remote learning should include a proactive communication plan that begins as early as two weeks before the start of the term. Instructors will want to consider leveraging available tools in Moodle, Zoom, Echo360 and more to conduct e-learning activities including online orientation and community building, pre-recorded lectures, asynchronous activities, synchronous online sessions and more.

Step 3: Attend a TLC Course Preparedness Work Session. Looking for a smooth start? Help is available! The Teaching & Learning Corner will host live online work sessions designed for instructors to complete tasks needed for a smooth start. Sessions will be packed with helpful tips and know-how all instructors can use moving forward into the first few weeks of the new year.  Session recordings archived at TLCs page.

The Teaching & Learning Corner is available to faculty seeking support in course development, instructional design and educational technology.  Please contact helpdesk@clarkson.edu for more information or to request a consultation.

We want to wish everyone a restful, healthy time period during the break. It is our hope you find the opportunity to recharge and renew.

Sincerely,

Laura Perry and the team in the Teaching & Learning Corner
