RSVP: tinyurl.com/RadicalSelfCareAmy
ABOUT SERIES: The Clarkson Chief Inclusion Office and the St. Lawrence University Office for Diversity & Inclusion have collaborated to create a self-care series open to all and focused on the needs and healing of BIPOC students. This semester we will have sessions addressing: mental health, spiritual health, sexual health, physical health, and culturally relevant veganism. Every other Friday starting on Friday 5 Feb. we will host a different session.

WORKSHOP:
Veggie Mijas started in August 2017 as an instagram page, created by Amy Quichiz and Mariah Bermeo, for college students that wanted easy recipes that folks can make in their dorms and small kitchens. The access to food became a general issue for most people living off & on campus. Once Amy and Mariah graduated from Syracuse University, Veggie Mijas became a women of color/trans folks of color/gender non-confirming collective for folks that are plant-based or are interested in a plant-based lifestyle that have marginalized identities and/or experiences with food insecurity/food apartheids. Veggie Mijas is excited to continue being a part of the food revolution for our people, our hood, our community.

BIO:
Amy Quichiz earned her degree at Syracuse University in Women’s and Gender Studies and Sociology. She is continuously committed to bring awareness to the Latinx community and fight against gender violence, sexual assault, gender and sexual inequality, queer discriminations and racial issues. With Veggie Mijas, Amy works to highlight the importance of veganism from a lens of those with marginalized identities. Amy also provides resources for folks in these cities on how their food can be more accessible and to learn more about the food system.
