If you are writing an application for graduate school, study abroad, or transfer, we recommend that you come to test it on us. We can also help you brainstorm ideas.
The number one recommendation we have for you is to think about what the reviewers need to know. They want to know your story, but the best story is not one told in chronological order. Writing about your growth and development is a good way to identify themes, but it’s not a good way to present your current best self. Reviewers are looking for evidence that you are sincerely interested in the position you’re applying for. They want to know that you’ll be a good addition to the team or cohort. They want to know what your hard and soft skills are, and they want you to provide proof for your claims.
