Emma Blaiklock, Residential Housing Manager, has been selected by the College Student Personnel Association of New York State, Inc. (CSPA-NYS) to lead an educational session at their annual conference this October in Binghamton, NY.
Blaiklock will share the intricacies of Clarkson’s First Year Cup and Living Learning Communities student engagement programs with a large group of graduate students, new professionals, and mid-level managers within New York state higher education. Blaiklock developed and implemented these initiatives at Clarkson in 2018 in an effort to positively impact first-year student connections within the floors of residence halls as well as in the Clarkson and Potsdam communities. Throughout students’ first semester at Clarkson, they are incentivized through the First Year Cup to attend specific events that introduce them to various departments, clubs, organizations, sports, etc., in an effort to enhance the student experience and improve retention.
CSPA-NYS is a comprehensive professional student affairs organization that provides professional development programs and networking opportunities. CSPA-NYS is dedicated to fostering the development of its members; a diverse community of educators, students, and scholars within higher education.
Please join us in congratulating Emma Blaiklock (eblaiklo@clarkson.edu) on this impressive achievement!
