Spring Break Residential Reminders

Welcome back from February Break, we hope everyone is getting excited to enjoy their spring break which begins after classes end on Friday, March 10th. The meal plan stops at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 10th. There will be no meal plan during the break. 

All students who need vacation housing must fill out a Vacation Housing Request Form by March 8If you are on a sports team, a SPEED team, or another university-affiliated group that will need residential access during the break, your coach and/or advisor must submit your names to Residential Housing Manager Emma Blaiklock eblaiklo@clarkosn.edu

The residence halls will reopen on Sunday, March 19.  Students who need to return prior to March 19 must submit an Early Arrival Request Form by Friday, March 17.  These forms can be submitted on Knight Life

Students cannot be on campus without permission from the Residence Life Office as of 10:00 am on Saturday, March 11th. 

When you close your residential rooms/spaces please keep the following in mind:

  • Every person in the space is required to sign their closing contract before vacating their room.
  • All trash and recyclables have been removed and disposed of properly
  • Close and lock the windows and close the blinds.
  • Unplug all items. Defrost and clean mini-refrigerators. 
  • Kitchen and Living Room: All furniture and equipment including stoves, sinks, full-size refrigerators, counters, cabinets and furniture must be thoroughly cleaned. 
  • Turn off all lights.
  • Room must be broom swept or vacuumed clean.
  • Doors must be closed and locked. Set the thermostat to 70 degrees. 
  • The bathroom must be broom-swept clean and all personal belongings must be removed.  The toilet, sinks, and shower should be wiped clean.
  • Common area surrounding your room should not contain any personal belongings or bags of trash, etc. If trash, dust piles, garbage, or personal items are left in this area, the room may also be billed for the cleaning of this area.  Trash should be taken to the garbage containers and disposed of properly.

Failure to sign the contract with the date/time prior to you vacating your room, or failure to complete the above tasks, will result in a charge of $50 on your bill, plus the cost of any damages to the room/bathroom/suite/apartment.  Please leave this form in a common area space prior to vacating your residence hall.  Facilities/Residence Life/Campus Safety/Environmental Health and Safety Staff may enter your room during the break.

Parking on Campus 

If you are leaving your car on campus during the break Campus Safety and Facilities are requesting students leave their vehicles in the TAC/ERC parking lot on the backside of these buildings closest to the Woodstock Apartments and next to the Science Center.
