Campus Lost & Found

To better serve the campus community, Campus Safety & Security has had a policy to deal with lost and found property.  All lost and found items are held in a secure location until the owner claims them. Items found or turned in to an academic department should be forwarded immediately to the Department of Campus Safety & Security located in the ERC building suite 1200 or by calling 268-6666. Listed below are procedures to be followed:

  1. Bring found items to CSS /Lost and Found (ERC Suite 1200) as soon as possible or call 315/ 268-6666 for the Officer(s) on duty.
  2. To report lost items call Campus Safety & Security at 315/ 268-6666 or on-line @ https://intranet.clarkson.edu/student-life/campus-safety/lost-found/
  3. Items of value such as wallets, purses, keys, backpacks, and electronic devices should be immediately forwarded to the Department of Campus Safety & Security.  If the lost item(s) includes any identifying information, please make immediate attempts to contact the owner.  If unsuccessful, turn property over to Safety & Security staff who will attempt to contact the owner directly.
  4. Unclaimed student ID’s will be kept for a couple weeks.  If unclaimed, the ID’s will be destroyed. Other unclaimed ID’s such as driver’s license or state ID’s will be mailed to the designated address after one week.
  5. To ensure lost items are returned to the rightful owners, persons claiming items will be asked to describe the items and to provide identification. 
  6. Items in Lost and Found, which are not claimed by the end of each semester, will be donated to a local charity.
