Quality Matters recognizes APPQMR completions.

TLC is very pleased to announce the following Clarkson faculty and staff recently completed Quality Matters Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR) workshop.

  • Michael Conrad, MSEM Program Coordinator / Executive Officer
  • Daniel Eno, Adjunct Associate Professor
  • Eric Kathe, Adjunct Faculty
  • Michelle Perry, Adjunct Instructor
  • Carlos Velez, Adjunct Associate Professor
  • Chen Zian, Assistant Professor of Operations & Information Systems

The APPQMR is recommended for everyone teaching online at Clarkson, as well as those interested in improving their on campus course.  Quality Matters is the gold standard in online education (Why QM?).  Clarkson University is proud to be an institutional member of QM and adheres to QM standards for course design.

Individuals who complete the workshop earn a certificate to signify they have gained the skills necessary to complete a QM course self-review.  The self-review uncovers areas for improvement and identifies a set of action items.  Once acted upon, the course is designed for a quality learning experience for students, and is on the path to official QM certification.  Individuals must complete the APPQMR if they wish to pursue further training with Quality Matters to become a Peer Reviewer.

APPQMR graduates become members of the Clarkson QM community on Moodle which gives them quick access to others at Clarkson also pursuing Quality Matters and have already completed this workshop.  The goal for the Clarkson QM Community in Moodle is to foster a network within the Clarkson community to share resources and experiences among peers while pursuing quality online instruction.

More than half of instructors teaching online at Clarkson have completed the APPQMR since spring 2017.  Facilitated by TLC staff, the APPQMR workshop is offered in two formats: online (2 weeks with estimated 8 hours’ time commitment per week) or face-to-face (8 hours) at Potsdam and CRC campuses.

View the TLC page for a complete list of APPQMR graduates at Clarkson and to learn more about the APPQMR with upcoming dates.

Join us in congratulating our newest members of the Clarkson QM community!
