Christino Tamon Receives Promotion to Professor at Clarkson University

Clarkson University President Tony Collins has announced that Christino Tamon has been promoted from associate professor to professor in the department of computer science in the School of Arts & Sciences.

Tamon received his bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Calgary and his masters from the University of Toronto.

His main research interests are in theoretical computer science and discrete mathematics, which include machine learning, quantum computing and algebraic graph theory. Funding for most of his research has been provided by the National Science Foundation, the National Security Agency and the Air Force Research Laboratory.

Tamon has held visiting appointments at the University of Waterloo, Institut Henri Poincaré, Meiji University, and Harvey Mudd College. Previously, he was a recipient of the Clarkson Distinguished Teaching and New Teacher awards.
