Clarkson researchers looking to interview local faculty about teaching during the pandemic

Dear Faculty,

You are being invited to participate in a study by Clarkson faculty members about your experiences teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.  You will be granted a $25 Amazon gift card for your time following the interview.  This study is particularly interested in how the pandemic might have led to reflection about your relationships with students, your priorities as a teacher, and the way that you view your role as a professor. This will shed valuable insight into how faculty have been impacted by this crisis, informing discussions in the field of higher education and emergency teaching more broadly.

The study will involve a 1-1.5 hour long interview via web conferencing and a brief survey. Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and revocable at any time. All personally identifiable data will be kept completely confidential; pseudonyms will be used in all reporting. All personal information will be destroyed after completion of the study.

If you are interested in participating, please follow this link to a brief survey:  Click Here. Someone will reach out to schedule an interview with you.

The study is being conducted by Clarkson faculty: Matt Manierre (PI), Seema Rivera, Martha Whalen, and Jan DeWaters. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Matt Manierre at mmanierr@clarkson.edu. This project has been approved by the Clarkson Institutional Review Board, If you have questions about your rights as a research subject, please contact the Clarkson University Institutional Review Board (IRB) for human subjects research: (315) 268-6475 or irb@clarkson.edu.
