Information on County Bus Service, Deliveries to Campus

Dear Students,

As we begin the Fall 2020 semester, Clarkson University strives to provide you with as much information as possible about certain operations or procedures that differ from previous school years. In this email, you will find information on the St. Lawrence County public transit services and also on food delivery to campus.

St. Lawrence County Shuttle Buses

In the interest of public health, the St. Lawrence County Department of Public Health has directed that public transit services temporarily decrease routes to reduce bus service to a number of venues including the four local colleges. As a result, the Clarkson University shuttle bus has shortened hours for the month of August and new services are in place to accommodate student needs. You can find the current bus schedule on the CUSA Shuttle intranet page.

All students are eligible to ride the Clarkson University shuttle bus by presenting their student ID. Students must be wearing a mask to be granted access to the bus.

St. Lawrence County Public Transit, is providing a service where on-campus and undergraduate and graduate students in the local community can schedule a ride with Public Transit/First Mile Last Mile. They will transport people to and from grocery stores, medical appointments or prescription pickups and their places of employment between Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm.

If students would like to request for groceries or restaurant pick-up to be delivered to their home, they can schedule this service by calling the Public Transit Dispatch Center at 315-386-2600. Please note that any food or prescription deliveries must be paid for prior to delivery.

The Arc of St. Lawrence County requests that prior to your ride, you wash your hands per the CDC guidelines–and know that the drivers are following appropriate disinfecting/hand washing protocols.

Food Delivery

Students who would like to order food from one of the many food service businesses in downtown Potsdam may do so and may have that food delivered to campus. During the delivery process, we ask that students adhere to a few guidelines.

Payments to delivery drivers should be a touchless transaction. This means you should refrain from using cash. The delivery driver should call the student upon arrival to the residence hall, where the student should meet the driver outside of the residence hall, and a contactless delivery is conducted.

We value your safety and your patience through these challenges. Please contact Jeff Taylor or Kristen Avery with any questions, concerns, and/or feedback on these services.
