A New Fellow
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers has a new Fellow: Clarkson Professor Ross Taylor. Taylor focuses on multicomponent mass transfer, separation process simulation and computer algebra’s engineering applications — all areas in which he has contributed significantly to the chemical engineering profession. Excellence in Engineering
If someone is commended — not once, but twice — by the country’s preeminent engineering honor society, they must be doing something right. We’re proud to say that someone is Professor Sitaraman Krishnan, who received the Tau Beta Pi Faculty Award for his work in promoting integrity and excellence in engineering. READ MORE
Student Chapter Lauded
The Clarkson University Electrochemical Society student chapter has had an active year, hosting speakers and workshops and supporting members in their research — all of which is to be expected. What’s unexpected is that, having recently formed in 2019, they have been named a 2020 Chapter of Excellence. That’s quite a year. READ MORE
Professor Baltus Retires
After 37 years of teaching, Professor Ruth Baltus is taking a well-deserved rest, retiring from Clarkson as professor emeritus. Throughout the years, she has contributed significantly to the study of membrane separation and room temperature ionic liquids. She has also been instrumental in improving the climate for women at Clarkson. READ MORE
