Clarkson University 2021 Spring RAPS Announcement

The upcoming 2021 Spring Research and Project Showcase (RAPS) has been strategically designed to be both synchronous and asynchronous to ensure accessibility to participants, faculty, judges, and public engagement.

Virtual RAPS will run from Monday, April 19th through Friday, April 23rd using VoiceTread as a communication platform. Presenters are expected to field questions from judges and viewers throughout the week. Tutorials for VoiceThread can be found here. This component is a requirement for all RAPS participants.

Live RAPS is scheduled for Thursday, April 22nd and Friday, April 23rd. Oral presenters will be scheduled for a block of time to facilitate a live webcast in one of the CU zoom rooms. Digital Image presenters will be scheduled to appear for a block of time for Q&A at one of five campus wide monitors. A master schedule will be made available for public viewing and engagement. This component is not a requirement, but encouraged.

Awards will be announced via Zoom as part of the Research & Excellence Award Ceremony on Friday, April 23rd at 3:30pm. Click here to add to your calendar. A separate invitation will come out shortly.

Oral Presentations are short (6-minute) presentations. Participants will upload PDF slides and/or presentations to VoiceThread with a 6 minute “lightning talk” overlay.

Digital Image Presentations are short (3-minute) presentations. Participants will upload a single PDF image to VoiceThread with an associated 3 minute “elevator message” overlay.

Registration opens Monday, March 15th and closes Monday, March 29th at 11:59pm EST. VoiceThread submissions are due Monday, April 12th. A link for the VoiceThread submission portal will be automatically emailed to you upon successful registration.
