Faculty & Staff Opportunity – NSF Convergence Accelerator Expo, Military Health System Research Symposium

Dear Colleagues,

Please see the 2 opportunities below if you are interested:

1) Clarkson is a member of MTEC (Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium), who will have a booth at the upcoming Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS), which is slated for Aug 23 – 26 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Kissimmee, Florida.  MHSRS is an annual conference that focuses only on the medical R&D needs of the military, and a great opportunity to network with the large number of military folks in attendance.  If you are attending, please know they are willing to provide a member spotlight section to feature member’s technology/capabilities within their booth and offer one-on-one meetings with their MTEC team.  Even if you are unable to attend, they are willing to consider a way to feature member’s technologies/capabilities in their member spotlight exhibit.   Please contact Shannon Robinson, AVP for Research & Tech Transfer for more information at srs@clarkson.edu.

2) NSF Convergence Accelerator Expo

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Convergence Accelerator invites you to attend the Convergence Accelerator Expo 2021, scheduled virtually for July 28 – 29, 2021.    ABOUT EXPO 2021 This “must-attend” virtual event is an attendee’s opportunity to see unique use-inspired research solutions funded by the NSF Convergence Accelerator. Last year’s inaugural event drew over 1,500 attendees from academia, industry, non-profit, government across 25 countries, and this year’s event is expected to be even larger.    During the event, you will have the opportunity to connect with our funded research teams and see live solution demos every 15 minutes across five research tracks, as well as network with other researchers, innovators, and business and technical practitioners from academia, industry, government, non-profit, and other communities of practice.   Featured Research Track Topics AI-Driven Data Sharing & ModelingFuture of WorkOpen Knowledge NetworksQuantum TechnologySpecial Topic: EcoManufacturing   Today’s national-scale societal challenges cannot be solved by one discipline working alone. Instead, multiple disciplines must work together. To deliver tangible solutions that have a nation-wide societal impact and at a faster pace, the NSF Convergence Accelerator is designed to leverage a convergence approach to transition basic research and discovery into practice. Using innovation processes like human-centered design, user discovery, and team science; and integration of a multidisciplinary approach, NSF is making investments to solve high-impact societal challenges through use-inspired convergence research.   Who Should Attend Expo 2021 is open to the public and media, but we are encouraging researchers, innovators, and tech and business practitioners from academia, industry, government, non-profits, and other communities to attend.   Registration To register for Expo 2021 visit, nsf-ca.vfairs.com. Registration is complimentary.   NSF looks forward to connecting with you at Expo 2021!     Regards, The National Science Foundation     Policy Outreach Website | Resource Center | Update Notifications Event Questions | Policy Office Questions   https://www.youtube.com/c/nationalsciencefoundationpolicyoffice ‌
