Experts on Entrepreneurship in Latin America to give talk at Clarkson University in April

Clarkson’s David D. Reh School of Business will host experts on Entrepreneurship in Latin America on Friday April 1st, where they will deliver a presentation on the topic.

The speakers are Jerry Haar, the former director of the Entrepreneurship Center and Executive Director for the Americas at the Florida International University in Miami USA; Ernesto Amoros, Director of the doctoral program, Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and professor of entrepreneurship at the Tec de Monterrey in Mexico, and Sascha Fürst, former MBA director at EAFIT University in Medellin Colombia, Ambassador for Mexico of IE-scholars.net and research professor of entrepreneurship at the EGADE Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Haar is the former associate dean and director of the Entrepreneurship Center at Florida International University. Currently, he is the director for the Americas at FIU. Professor Haar is also a Global Fellow of the Woodrow Wilson International Center and a senior research fellow at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He has held visiting appointments at Wharton, Harvard, Oxford, Stanford, and the American Enterprise Institute and was a Fulbright Scholar at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil. A former director of Washington Programs for the Council of the Americas, Dr. Haar holds graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins, Columbia and Harvard.

Ernesto Amoros, is an expert in entrepreneurship, regional development and new businesses. He was director of research and professor at Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile in South America. He has been guest researcher at the World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University and developed projects at the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank. Currently Dr Amoros is director of the doctoral program, director of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and professor of entrepreneurship at the EGADE Tec de Monterrey in Mexico. He has participated in the evaluation of pro-entrepreneurship public policies in a range of countries.

Sascha Fürst, is an expert on international entrepreneurship. Former MBA director at EAFIT University in Medellin Colombia, Ambassador for Mexico of IE-scholars.net and research professor of entrepreneurship at the EGADE Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Fürst is affiliated with the Turku School of Economics in Finland as a research fellow. He is also visiting professor at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen in Germany where he teaches business in the Latin American context. He earned a PhD with distinction in International Business from the University of Turku and holds a MSc. in Business and Engineering from the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern in Germany.
