Clarkson students attend annual conference of the ASEE St. Lawrence Section

Clarkson was well represented at the most recent annual conference of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) St. Lawrence Section at Syracuse University, March 25-26, 2022. Four students presented 3 talks: “Mitigation of Cyanobacterial Harmful Algal Blooms (cHABs) by Electrochemical Oxidation: from Bench-scale Study to Field Application and Commercialization”, presented by graduate students Shasha Yang (ISE) and Maura Maguire (ISE); “Confirmation of ammonia recovery net effectiveness on energy production at increased loading rates”, presented by graduate student Bryan Dwyer (CEE); “Exploring Engineering Students’ Attitudes: Impacts of Sociotechnical vs. Technical Courses”, presented by graduate student Felicity Bilow (CEE); and “Integration of a Local Riverbank Failure Problem in Civil Engineering Undergraduate Curriculum” presented by Robert Schneider, a Jr. CEE student.

Also present are the students’ faculty advisors: Stefan Grimberg and Suguang Xiao (CEE) and Jan DeWaters (STEM Institute).

The ASEE St. Lawrence Section supports efforts to improve teaching and learning, and organizes an annual conference held regionally every spring. The regional conference is an excellent opportunity for students at all levels, undergraduate and graduate, to share posters and presentations about their engineering projects with the broader engineering education community.
