Clarkson University Mathematics Prof Has Most-cited Article & in Top 2% of World Scientists by Citations

Clarkson University Assistant Professor of Mathematics Olaniyi S. Iyiola has one of the most-cited articles published since 2019 in the academic journal Applied Numerical Mathematics (Q1 with 19% acceptance rate).

Iyiola’s article, “Projection methods with alternating inertial steps for variational inequalities: Weak and linear convergence,” was published in the November 2020 volume of the journal, which provides a forum for the publication of high-quality research and tutorial papers in computational mathematics.

Iyiola is also among ten Clarkson faculty and emeriti faculty listed as some of the world’s most cited scientists, according to data compiled by Elsevier, a leader in information and analytics for customers across the global research and health ecosystems. Iyiola was listed among the top two percent by citations and other metrics.

Iyiola’s research interests are in numerical analysis (algorithms & analysis for partial differential equations, integer and non-integer order), computational mathematics (simulations in application, PDE models, optimization), data science, mathematical biology and nonlinear operator theory involving fixed point algorithms, variational inequality, optimization and variational analysis, equilibrium problems, and nonlinear integral equations.
