Moodle 4.1 Update in 2023

More Moodle Roundtables in March

Join us as Moodle Roundtables continue this month. These virtual sessions are hosted by the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend. OIT is preparing to upgrade Moodle from 3.11 to 4.1 in the first half of 2023 and the Roundtables are interactive sessions designed to help share project progress and explain the changes that are coming. If you haven’t had an opportunity to tune in, now is a great time: register to attend our next Roundtable on March 8, 2023.

Impact:

The project will begin to impact Summer 2023 term courses, with all courses in subsequent terms to follow. The new version brings significant feature improvements to site navigation, dashboard, activity completion, course formatting and editing. Instructors and students will want to become acquainted with the adjustments coming to the experience in Moodle.

In previous Moodle Roundtable sessions, the team has shared details of the project plan including timeline, process, testing and impacts to instructors and students. Sessions offer previews and discussions for what’s coming next. Be sure to join for opportunities to test and give feedback.

  • Be a Moodle Beta Tester:
    • CU OIT welcomes students, faculty and staff members to join our community of volunteers who help test features in Moodle. This can be a great opportunity to let us know what is/not working and what you’d like to see in Moodle. This is an open call and we welcome new members to join at any time. Commitment is flexible and sign up is easy. Sign up to get started.

For a smooth transition for faculty, staff and students, additional details and support will accompany each step. It is important to stay informed. Read below for ways to be more informed and to get involved.
