Campus Safety & Security Officer (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary Guidelines: The Campus Safety Officer is responsible for providing campus safety services to the university community, which includes enforcing university regulations, vehicle and traffic laws, local, state and federal laws. Providing emergency response on campus and protecting life and property within the Clarkson community. In addition, the Campus Safety Officer/ Staff engage in outreach and communication efforts to women and/or underrepresented student groups on campus around issues of alcohol consumption, sexual misconduct, sexual harassment and bias-related conduct.

Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma required. New York State driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the University.

Range: $16.00 based on experience

DIII Operations Manager (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary Guidelines: This position performs the daily business operations for the Division III programs and the Fitness Center. These business operations include but are not limited to: daily budget operations, transportation, scheduling contracts, fitness club memberships and performs supportive administrative duties generated by the Athletic Director and Sr. Associate Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, and Fitness Center Director, approximately 12 DIII coaches and approximately 19 department and supporting staff.

Minimum qualifications: Associates Degree in Business Related Field, 3-5 years office experience required. Must have excellent word processing, communication, organizational skills, and experience working with budgets. Ability to work as a team member and/or independently must possess the tact and courtesy needed for interaction.

Range: $21.50 – $24.80 based on experience

Controller (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary Guidelines: Reporting to the Vice President of Financial Affairs, the Controller will plan, direct, and administer the general accounting and accounts payable operations of the University including: establishment of strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures, workloads, organizational structure, and other management decisions. The Controller will also assist the CFO in communications with the Board of Trustees, internal management strategies, and external relations pertaining to financial management.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, 7 years of hands on, progressive accounting practices with financial statement preparation and audit experience.

Range: $100,000-$145,000 based on experience

Post Doctoral Candidate- Biology (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary Guidelines: Post doctoral opportunity is available at Clarkson University in the Arts and Sciences department, under the direction of Associate Professor Susan Bailey Desirable skills and knowledge include some of, evolutionary biology, microbiology, Pseudomonad bacteria, experimental evolution, and bioinformatics. Proficiency in Linux, R statistical programming, and the breseq pipeline for genome assembly and mutation identification.

IT Support Specialist I (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary Guidelines: Acts as the “first line of support” for the entire Clarkson University Community. This person will reside at the Helpdesk counter (currently located on the 2nd Floor, ERC) and serves as the primary point of contact for walk-up and phone call inquiries to the University’s OIT Helpdesk. Provides first-tier support for telephone, media, and computer technology issues within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) organization. Escalates issues as needed to appropriate OIT personnel and delegates all other issues to the appropriate department or team.

Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 years relevant experience

Range: $19.20- $21.30 based on experience

BOREALIS Scholars Program Coordinator (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary:  A temporary position is available with the BOREALIS Scholars Program within the Spring semester 2024. This position is responsible for performing a variety of professional and administrative duties that facilitate the day-to-day operations of the BOREALIS Scholars program. These include assisting in program planning; coordinating expenses and stipends; and acting as liaison between the program and many campus departments. A key function of this position is maintaining documentation for annual reports to our funders. This position involves a high degree of interaction with students, faculty, and other staff across Clarkson. In the Spring of 2024, this will also include coordinating and assisting with the recruitment of the second class of BOREALIS Scholars, interfacing with our external evaluation team, and planning and hosting our External Advisory Board meeting.

Minimum qualifications  Associate’s Degree, 2-3 years of program coordination experience.

Range: $19.00- $22.00 salary based on experience

Position Summary:  The Micro-credential Project Manager at Clarkson University will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating various microcredential related projects within the university. Leveraging experience in project management and STEM, the Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and completion of these initiatives.

Academic Counselor (CUPO/HEOP) (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary:  The Academic Counselor of CUPO/HEOP manages various tasks related to the persistence and graduation of students within the five grant-funded programs; Arthur O Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), The Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair), and The Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation Program (LSAMP). The Academic Counselor will provide management of student caseloads related to academic guidance, personal support and career counseling. Coordinate and provide support for prospective students; assist in coordinating career, cultural and other workshops/activities, assist Associate Director in summer programming. In addition, the Academic Counselor will manage all communication and marketing logistics using traditional digital and social media marketing techniques.

Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, must have demonstrated ability working with culturally diverse and disadvantaged student populations in a confidential manner

Associate Director, Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) (Potsdam, NY)

Position Summary:  Manages programming and strategic direction pertaining to underrepresented student recruitment, retention, persistence and graduation. Develop, lead and manage admission recruitment strategy and admission criteria in collaboration with the Director of Admissions, and Office of New Student Financial Aid in accordance with grant compliance and University strategic direction. Lead and supervise full-time direct report Assistant Director HEOP and Academic Counselor HEOP/CUPO. Plan, implement and manage mandatory summer bridge program through development of framework, programmatic objectives, academic curriculum and learning outcome with goal of preparing incoming first year students academically from underrepresented backgrounds to transition to Clarkson University. Hire, train and supervise staff of residential advisors, project assistants and academic tutors/mentors. Develop, lead and implement high impact academic, cultural and professional programming. Provide guidance to the HEOP staff and supervision for Assistant Director HEOP and Academic Counselor HEOP/CUPO. Also, will assist in the preparation and submission of institutional and State Education budgets and reports. Finally, the Associate Director will be able to assume duties of the Director in their absence.

Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working with academically and economically disadvantaged students in a secondary or post-secondary setting required.

Range: $25.00-$29.00 based on experience
